The Green Lantern Corps holds a prestigious place in the DC Universe, serving as the intergalactic police force under the guidance of the immortal Guardians of the Universe from the planet Oa. With a history spanning billions of years, the Corps has been responsible for maintaining order across the cosmos, with only two Lanterns assigned per sector to ensure peace & justice.

Cosmic Librarian: Salakk’s Calculated Support
Salakk, one of the most experienced Green Lanterns, brings a bureaucratic & pedantic nature to the game. He wields the Book of Oa, allowing other Heroes to perform actions as long as their Power Rings are charged. His ability to recharge the Book of Oa or gain Heroic Action tokens adds strategic depth to his role.
As the keeper of the Book of Oa, Salakk’s gameplay revolves around supporting other Heroes & maintaining order. His Hero cards often provide utility & flexibility to the team, allowing for precise & calculated moves. New Gameplay Mechanics
Power Rings & Action Symbols
Every member of the Green Lantern Corps has been chosen by their Green Power Ring for their strength of character. This artifact channels their willpower to create an almost limitless range of effects. Each Hero in this set has their own Power Ring Equipment card, which works in conjunction with their deck. Many of their Hero cards display one of the Action symbols at the bottom as a Green symbol. While these work as normal Action symbols, they also have a special interaction with Green Power Rings. When using their Power Ring, the Hero is able to perform 2 additional times the Action corresponding to a Green symbol on their own played card or the previous Hero card in the Storyline. Even more than usual, cooperation is key for the Green Lantern Corps to take full advantage of their Power Rings.
Recharging Power Rings
Recharging a Power Ring costs 2 Action tokens, adding a layer of resource management to the game. However, each Hero has cards that allow them to recite the Green Lantern Oath, immediately recharging their ring or healing themselves. Players must carefully balance when to use tokens for recharging versus other actions.
The Green Lantern Corps Team Deck
To further integrate the Green Lantern Corps into the game, this expansion includes a Team Deck. When using this deck, all Heroes must be part of the Green Lantern Corps, and the Hard Challenge difficulty level is recommended. The Team Deck introduces new dynamics:
- Team Display: Two cards from the deck are revealed to form the Team Display. Heroes can choose to play a Team turn, using one of these cards instead of their Hero cards. This provides additional options and strategic flexibility.
- Negative Effects: The deck includes a card with a mandatory negative effect. To counter this, a Hero must take a Team turn and play the negative card facedown in the Storyline, adding a layer of risk and reward.
Reinforcing the Green Lantern Oath
The Team Deck also includes cards that reinforce the Green Lantern’s Oath, each with specific effects:
- In Brightest Day: Rewards Heroes for clearing Threats.
- In Blackest Night: Makes Power Rings and reciting the Oath useless.
- No Evil Shall Escape My Sight: Reveals the next Master Plan card.
- Let Those Who Worship Evil’s Might: Takes out Thugs.
- Beware My Power: Provides extra fighting power.
- Green Lantern’s Light: Recharges Green Power Rings.
